Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

“Meet Jordan” is a free, bilingual chat experience where Salim, an AI guide, helps you discover Jordan as a travel destination, together with a set of free Jordan travel guides. We care about your privacy and keep data collection to a minimum. This page explains what we collect, what advertising and affiliate links we use, and why — in plain language.

What we collect

  • Anonymous usage events. As you use the experience we record actions such as starting the quiz, which answers you tap, your traveler-type result, the language you choose, your approximate country (derived from your network connection), and timestamps. These are not linked to your name or any account — there is no sign-up.
  • The questions you type to Salim. When you chat, the text of your question is stored so we can understand what travelers want to know and improve the experience. Please don’t type personal information (such as your name, phone, email, or payment details) into the chat.
  • Basic technical data. Your IP address is used momentarily to protect the service from abuse (rate-limiting) and is not stored alongside your activity.

We do not ask for your name, email, or any account details.

Advertising (guide pages only)

Our Jordan travel guides may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers in order to serve, measure and report on ads. Two things we do deliberately:

  • We request non-personalized ads (NPA): ads are based on the content of the page you’re reading and your rough location, not on a behavioural profile built from your browsing history.
  • We show no advertising at all inside the quiz or Salim’s chat — only on the guide articles. No pop-ups, no interstitials.

You can review how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and change your ad settings at myadcenter.google.com. Blocking third-party cookies will not stop you using this site.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site — including the booking buttons after your result and links inside the guides — are affiliate links to partners such as Viator and GetYourGuide. If you book through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking one takes you to that partner’s site, where their own privacy policy and cookies apply, and they may set a cookie to attribute the booking to us. We record the click anonymously on our side (which link — no personal data). Affiliate relationships never change what Salim recommends.

How your chat is processed

To generate Salim’s replies, the text of your question is sent to DeepSeek, a third-party AI provider, which processes it to produce a response. Questions about whether Jordan is safe to visit are answered by us directly and are not sent to DeepSeek.

Why we collect it

  • To understand what visitors are interested in and improve Salim’s answers and the quiz.
  • To keep the service reliable, secure, and free from abuse.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data. It is processed by the service providers that run this site: Cloudflare (hosting, security and storage), DeepSeek (generating Salim’s chat replies), and Google (advertising on the guide pages only). If you click through to Pan East, Viator or GetYourGuide, those are separate websites with their own privacy policies.

Retention & your choices

Anonymous events and chat questions are kept so we can analyse trends over time. Because the data is anonymous we usually cannot connect it back to a single person, but if you have a concern or want information removed, contact us and we’ll do our best to help.

Children

This experience is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the experience evolves. We’ll change the “last updated” date above when we do.
